What do we need to bring to lessons?

Is the pool heated?
The pools temperatures run between 74 - 80 degrees Fahrenheit.
Will there be a lifeguard on duty?
Absolutely. No one is allowed into the water without a certified lifeguard on duty.
What qualifications to instructors have?
All instructors are certified by the American Red Cross and have Water Safety Instructor certification to teach at JAWS.
How long does the swim program run?
JAWS swimming program runs all year round and enrollments continue perpetually. Programs do break for Southwestern College Community District and federal holidays. There are no makeup lessons for holidays.
Can we enroll at any time?
Participants you must enroll when the session starts or wait until the next month to start in group swim classes.
Can I drop my child off for a lesson and return when the lesson is over?
All children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a parent and be supervised by the adult during lessons.
What happens if my child misses a class? Do you do make-ups?
Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate make up classes. Should your lesson be delayed by unforeseen pool maintenance or staff unavailability, we will re-schedule classes.
How many children are in each class?
Swimmers who are 3 - 5 years of age have a class limit of 5 children to 1 instructor. Older children have a ratio of 6:1 or 8:1.
