Yes, facility rentals are permitted through Civic Center Facilities Leasing. To inquire about pool rental, log on to www.swccd.edu/administration-
Yes. We have locker rentals for daily use. If you are interested, please come to the Front Desk and fill out a rental agreement. You may bring your own lock or we have some for sale.
The pricing of swimming lessons varies depending on the how many weeks in the session, holidays and pool availability.
Between parent/guardian input on the child’s swim experience and a short in-person assessment by instructors, a swimming level is determined. Free aquatic assessments are periodically available.
Session run 30 to 40 minutes depending on the swimming level.
Swimmers who are 3 – 5 years of age have a class limit of 5 children to 1 instructor. Older children have a ratio of 6:1 or 8:1.
Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate make up classes. Should your lesson be delayed by unforeseen pool maintenance or staff unavailability, we will re-schedule classes.
All children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a parent and be supervised by the adult during lessons.
Participants you must enroll when the session starts or wait until the next month to start in group swim classes.
JAWS swimming program runs all year round and enrollments continue perpetually. Programs do break for Southwestern College Community District and federal holidays. There are no makeup lessons for holidays.
All instructors are certified by the American Red Cross and have Water Safety Instructor certification to teach at JAWS.
Absolutely. No one is allowed into the water without a certified lifeguard on duty.
The pools temperatures run between 74 – 80 degrees Fahrenheit.
Please bring the child in an appropriate swim suit and towel. All children who are not toilet trained must wear disposable swim diapers. These diapers must have elastic waist and leg bands. Goggles are not mandatory, only recommended if your child is more comfortable with them. Please apply sunscreen 15 minutes before the lesson begins.
Yes. However, please be respectful of other members using the pool.
Yes. Private lessons are 30 minutes and times depend on availability. Please email swcswim@swccd.edu to schedule.
No. Because student’s levels are assessed and the lessons are based on the skills of those swimmers, drop-in lesson are not available.
